Forklift Workshop for Beekeepers

Cost: $35

Time: 10:00 am- 3:30 pm

Venue: Feedmill at Glenlea Research Station

The event is intended for all farm owner-operators and farm workers on beekeeping operations.

Employers are required to provide and document forklift training to demonstrate their efforts to provide a safe workplace for their workers. Any workers working around a forklift being operated require training as well to ensure there are practices in place for staying safe around this machinery.

At this workshop you will learn:

  • How to conduct a pre-purchase and pre-use inspection of forklifts

  • How to develop a forklift training and certification program for your beekeeping operation

  • How to assess worker competency on the forklift

  • BONUS - Bring your own forklift for a free safety inspection with feedback

Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) enforcement officers gravitate towards inspecting forklifts at farm workplaces, and will likely also ask to see training documents. Register now for this one-day workshop geared towards experienced forklift users. Learn strategies to improve safety and reduce liability for your farm workplace.

We look forward to seeing you there!
